‘Neath the lissome palms, or in the cool of verdant glade,
Crawling under spotted umbrellas, lumbering in the frescade;
Any coy relief, summer’s inhabitants quietly retreat-
Summer Sun, where even smiling flowers pray for shade.

Oh, I think everything here is praying for shade. I think the rains are finally coming back. For months we had no rain and the trees have started to die. The young ones are already dead. The older ones have become brittle. It’s a sad sight to see such strong, solid trees snap so easily in the wind. Things were a very sad sight for quite some time, but they are starting to look up now. 🙂
Oh dear, that sounds dreadful! We don’t have frequent rains, but then, many of the trees here can go for quite some time without water. Oh my…the stark photography though that would make. Some of the scenes here are very eerie where there have been forest fires, and then incredibly inspiring at the resillience of life to photograph those brave shoots that punch through the ash. It’s fabulous. Life is indeed always changing, always interesting. I am so glad rains have returned there. I actually took this shot a few months ago on an abnormally hot day. It’s been rather cool here in FL, in the 80s, 70s at night. Strange…reached 104 in Washington DC one day, and here it was 80.
