“If we are genuinely concerned about the environment and the fellow human beings, and want to end territorial disputes, war, crime, poverty, hunger, and the other problems that confront us today, the intelligent use of science and technology are the tools with which to achieve a new direction – one that will serve all people, and not just a select few.”-Jacque Fresco
If only the internet would do that for us. I rather doubt that it has that power, but good if it does. It does keep us inside communicating with people all over the world, and away from communicating face to face with people that we don’t get along with. It allows the people that love us anyway to see what we’re thinking. It answers a lot of questions. So what is left? PROBLEMS SOLVED!
Aye! The Internet is a great tool to bring us together, all over the world, and start thinking about how we affect friends all across the planet. Indeed, it has its bad side too- keeping us isolated, wanting to wrap up inside a computer or ipad pod those phone things, and not put forth the effort of face-to-face encounter. But I think that aspect really is a choice. I love to meet and greet people as I bumble through life, and I love blog-land too XD It really is groovy to connect with others, share thoughts, all across the world. Everyday I’m learning- through the net, through life experience (and of course, through the giant walls of books that frequently topple down on me). It is endless, and it’s blasted wonderful!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts here, too groovy!
The internet , is one heck of a breage to bring pepole togeather. The internet , more good is exchange. I have many good friends that I have met over the years. , Given and been given understandeing. aRemove many missunderstandings. Found we have more incomman than we realisde. Houmer fore one. Old Tommy took the kid , to whear cavis coverd two piles . Old Tommy becande the kid , who as a new recruot was frerd to has beeing green , as ew wodd. ” Rihght lad lft up the canvise’s , ” now kid what do you see ” ” the site was horeduse bodys broken coverd in blood , thouir of course not oozing blood ‘The kid reeacd , he wa going to throw up ”Not yet kid ” ” now over to the next pile ” the kid did as he was told , lifted up the canvece more dead bodys in the same staite as were the first pile. ;’well lad the fiost pile is our lads , second is Germn lads ” now what do they have inncomman? ” ” well ”’ the lad said wel , they look just like us , I guess ” ” right so they do ” ” now what do the two piles now have in cooman ” the lad was confoust ” cant say , mate ” ” well I’ll tell the , it’s simpole they are all dead ”’ right now fech the pades and lets get ’em underground , cos thr are alrtedy stinking , the CO dont like them doing that.
What a great story – if a little gory! I am finding that commonality through the internet. It’s amazing to be identifying with teens from Australia, girls in their 20s from India, housewives in England, real estate people in California and photographers in Michigan. Amazing! So thanks for sharing. Come visit my blog, and have a good week-end.

Well , had to be gorry , to worn others what jhappos when pepole dont know that pepole are but the same. We all much beter a live and in one pese prteferberly. The net could well be the only way we can banish the egernorance THEY prtefer us to be in a stite to be. The gavers in France and Belgem , mayn children are taken to see. Comeimng back at least a little wiser. Millans of graves , many have no names. On Ypratyes thear is a wall with 1 , 00ns of names , who have no know graves . Oh I feel sheepish, ha ha. It is a photograph (I feature the original photo on here, somewhere, something about old men…what was the name of it…OH Pools of Melancholy.) I played with it on Corel Draw. I thank you. I was very happy with it, suits an old salt like me. XD Rainy-days always make this briny lass highly gruntled.
All my backgrounds are tiled. I’m not crazy about them, and then the white post on top of them. How cool that you can see through yours. What theme are you using?
I am using Chateau theme. The photo I used for the background I scaled down, but it is still pretty large so I wouldn’t need to tile it. I like that I have several options with this theme, to fiddle and play with 😀 P.S. I Love your blog as is lassie!! I think it’s marvelous!!
Sounds like a description of the ultimate utopia!! I LIKE her! I once had a pet toad, named toadie of course, who would swing on swings with me and gambol about the yard with me. I accumulated a mound of dried grass from mowing, knowing crickets would move in. Of course, they did. So, I fed our toadie crickets every evening. There is no greater joy than watching a toad snap up crickets. He always looked to be smiling. I let him go after a year and he lived under the deck for several years after that. I had a pet butterfly as well, just after I let toadie go. Her name was Sunshine, she was a monarch near the end of her life. I think I extended it. She lived into the late autumn. I took her on “walks” she would perch on my shoulder, in my hand. I would raise her up and release her. She would flutter high and then spill back down again and land on me. It was the strangest thing…and she loved music. Would you believe butterflies respond to music? I played “you are my sunshine” on the keyboard for her and she would flutter all around the room.
What an amazing story!!! I used to tease people and say I had a pet fly because flies act sort of domesticated for a VERY short time in their lives. I also raised guinea pigs for a few years. I love them, but that can’t compare to having a BUTTERFLY! I love it!!!!! And a cricket eating toad! Too funny!
Mans wars on man , mans war on the environment , time fore both to be stopde!

Not much to say to that! It’s a sad state of affairs that I wish we could stop.
Powerful story, Mr. Ken D. Williams, and phenomenal insight. Aye, the net is such a powerful tool to dispell ignorance and bring us together!
I love your decription of the varied people you have connected with Marsha! Very gruntled seeing these exchanges. Cheers to you both!

How did you do this marvelous background, and clear foreground? This is a brilliant site!!! You’re not just funny, but you are SO TALENTED!!!

Thank you, but there are always things I want to change. The tiles I’m not thrilled with!! But thanks!!!
Groovy!! Have fun with it! I had a lot of fun making mine, but now like it as it is. Suits the old salt well, I think, real melancholy brute I am 😉
You don’t seem melancholy. My friend Paula and I love your name, Smilingtoad.
Haha yes I so identify with toads!
She collects them. They are ubiquitous at our office!!!

Very beautiful photos. It sure does brighten up my day. Thanks.
Thank you, I’m so glad!
