“Soon it got dusk, a grapy dusk, a purple dusk over tangerine groves and long melon fields; the sun the color of pressed grapes, slashed with burgundy red, the fields the color of love and Spanish mysteries.”
―Jack Kerouac, On the Road
“this autumn
why am I aging so?
to the clouds a bird”
―Matsuo Basho
“The rain fell like dead bullets.”
―Scott Nicholson
“Are the days of winter sunshine just as sad for you, too? When it is misty, in the evenings, and I am out walking by myself, it seems to me that the rain is falling through my heart and causing it to crumble into ruins.”
―Gustave Flaubert

Oh thank you for that splendid stream of poetry, Mr. Ken D. Williams! Reminds me of another Tennessee Williams quote from “Orpheus Descending” where he talks about the three kinds of people in this world, those that take, those that get taken, and those that don’t belong- blue birds that sleep on the wind and only touch the earth when they die- here is the quote in film form- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40wSTr1W3-s
Wonderful quotes and rainy images.
Thank you very much! It was a very sodden day in Southern Florida, aye that it was, and it was heavenly. Multiple cheers,
Autumn Jade
Such beautiful photos, I especially like the one with the bike.
Me too, I really like the peaceful repose of it. Spotted the classic-looking cruiser nestled against a railing that overlooked the sea below. It was quite the lovely, relaxed scene. I just love it when I find parked bikes by the sea, love the feeling evoked. And then dappled with rain droplets??? What could be better?!
Thank you very much for oozing by! Many smiling cheers!

perfect B&W and well seen, thanks for sharing!
have a nice Sunday evening,

You have quite the knack for choosing poems fitting your imagery! That’s about as september-y as it gets. I’m particularly feeling the Flaubert one.
