Ashy taste of mildewed Wind, heady and warm, off brush-metal waves- sticking to thoughts– it cursitates, Neurons itching, tickled by the bleary chiming of a Rain-Pattered Sea.
The chink-metal ocean tastes of sodden rust, spume sputtering about the shoulders- these eyes– a lunging Black, as dark as wetsuit skin.
Lambent gaze scrapes the clouds; dark spindly form punctures the sky- fiberglass toes- white and sharp, like bone- and the sound of water drips like snow.
Comes the deluge, the swimming grey swarm of oblivion, drowning in a surge of metal- the colour of December’s somber death- the scent of it tingles in curled and gnarly fingers, burrowing in sand.
The balmy breath of it dissolves and settles upon these meandering splinters of thought that scuttle into the fizzy-green brine and are stolen by the evening tide, stifled by the sweeping sounds of the Seagull’s Drawl and the strumming song of a Rain-Pattered Sea.
Incredible photos, I love them!
Thank you very much! Cheers and a smiling New Year to you!

Beautiful set of images. Perfect in B&W.
Thank you so much indeed! I just adore B&W aye that I do. A groovy New Year to you!

The pictures are outstanding and im torn between them and the beauty of such creative words around them.
Thank you ever so much. So glad it was enjoyed. I certainly…drifted off to somewhere with that sluice of consciousness for words there. Thank you very much for fluttering in and having a look around, too splendid. A gorgeous New Year to you, with smiling cheers,
Autumn Jade
It was a pleasure to warm my feathers in your blog of beautiful writing.
I love your style of taking photos! Wonderful atmosphere in them!
Thank you, I had such fun capturing them in between onslaughts of torrents and ring-billed seagulls demanding loaves of bread from me, quickly followed by a whole massive gang of astoundingly obnoxious turnstones crawling all over me, puling for a few crumbs (as if I’m some sort of ambulating bread factory…), and then wee lasses bolting up to me to give reports on the contents of the treasure the mighty Ocean had bequeathed them…Then, of course, I had to fall a few times, and I guess I had seashells or crab-claws or something bonded to my face, or perhaps I was so swathed in feathers it seemed like I was wearing a new frilly white coat, because children seemed to erupt from every cranny of the Earth in order to stand there, gawping at me, and then reverberating with great sundering guffaws that rose high above the din of misty sea. Oh yes, it was a grand challenge to slip in a few snaps. 😉 Har har
Thank you so much for drizzling by and imbibing. Happy New Year, cheers,
Autumn Jade
(P.S. Imagine…I did not even have any blasted bread!)
Haha that’s a great story, you are a true artist! All your effort was so worth it to get those wonderful photos. Happy New Year to you too Autumn Jade!
Such Great photos!
Thanks!
ah lass! how i love your words! they are like skewers of fine shishkabob, meaty and tasty. great poetry and fine pictures. you’re one of the best, lass.
I would love to go on photo shoots with you. What a hoot! I love the photos you paint with your words as well. Chink-metal ocean tastes of sodden rust is my favorite. At one point in my book I gave up trying to visualize how to turn a sight into a taste or sound. That kind of metaphor is beyond my abilities. I need to send you my book again, and have to write me some of these wonderful metaphors. 🙂 Have a great New Year, Autty. Love and hugs to you and Sir. 🙂
Haw haw haw lass, we MUST go on a shoot together. A plan for this upcoming new year! And YES I await your book. I cannot wait to dip in har har haw.
P.S. I do not think I pull it off with all those confusing metaphors that sputter forth. You are wise to avoid them. They’re quite the bullies. They write themselves, become living, and then bully me into publishing them on here…it’s horrible. I just stood there blinking at them as they glowered at me in hand-on-hips and fist-jostling fashion, and so I wheezed and surrendered with a, “Beh, fine…” and up they went. I really have no idea what I’m doing. It’s abominable. I must say, though, chink-metal I was truly fond of, as that was precisely what I was thinking when I was completely immobilized and thoroughly hypnotized, er, I mean, thrilled by the sea, watching those silvery waves and tasting the air. That pluvial wind really did taste of cold metal rust. It was wonderful. A grand ol’ sodden weekend for a haggard ol’ Irish lass, indeed. Hugs and love to you and V. -olde salty toad
That has got to be a top resolution! 🙂
