(A new and rather disturbing venture- a wee “poetry video,” oh dear…)
This is not the City
I hear no violin’s
Cry of empathy
Wafting up to
My lofty pane
This is a brushed
Little town
An ait between
Languid lagoon
And sun-washed sea
And somehow
A kind of
Penitentiary
As dog-days
Tame the waves
And my only Love
Becomes the
Monsoon Rains
That sweep
And brood
And pound
Into the deep blue
Of hissing Afternoon
And make
Lustrous Grey
This summery
Hide-away
I really enjoyed this π
Thank you! I am so glad it was enjoyed! Jubilant cheers,
Autumn Jade
Lovely.
Thank you!
Loved it! Your voice is paced perfectly and I know how difficult this is… It’s interesting hearing a woman’s voice with a ‘film noir’ video. Changes the mood entirely. An introverts daily dreamscape. When the piano crescendoed, though, your voice was lost a bit. Grmphutzh… this was just wonderfully inspiring. Thanks!
Aloha! Thank you so much for the tremendous comment and the marvelous feedback! Yes, I see what you mean with the muddied vocals- I shall swiftly return to it to repair away, fiddling about with the amplitudes.
I never considered the effect a female voice might have upon a wee film-noir. Very interesting!
Thanks so much imbibing and bestowing such lovely words. Ebullient cheers to you,
Autumn Jade
The pictures, poem, music, and voice all blend together to create a pensive, rather melancholy brilliance. This is an amazing piece, Autty. Agree with your other commenter about the crescendo. I had to look at the words afterwords to make sure of what you said, but then I don’t hear perfectly! Simply brilliant! π
Thank you so much dear lassie!! And Yes! Quite the crescendo conundrum! Some amplitude adjustment is clearly in order. I think I may also have to re-record the vocals, as I noticed it did not sound uniform to me. Thanks so much for the feedback!
I am so grateful it was enjoyed. Very new to this, indeed! So much to learn and improve upon. I had no idea I would become this infatuated with video when I had to replace my camera after the old one rudely sailed away in the ocean.
And I am soooooo delighted that it was, indeed, found to be melancholy. I could not be more gruntled.
Effusive cheers to you,
Autumn Jade
I’m glad you enjoy it so much, Autty. Keep it up. You are really talented. π
Much too kind lass!! Thank YOU for having a wee look, too fabulous! π
Beautiful, peaceful…full of the true flavors of life. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! Cheers,
Autumn Jade
Truly poetic. Most beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Hi AJ π You have a beautiful voice my friend. Loved it ! Ralph xox β€
Aloha dear Ralph! Thank you for oozing by and bestowing such a kind comment. Highly appreciated. So glad it was liked. Cheers and best regards,
Autumn Jade
I have no words AJ! Wow! That’s all I can say. Exquisite! π
Oh thank you so much! I still have to repair the audio har har, but otherwise, I am fairly content with the way it turned out for a first attempt at a poetry video. I hope to improve in future. π Thanks so much for the stupendous comment!
Nothing wrong with the audio at all. You have such a beautiful voice and it enchanting. I love it just the way it is. You go girl and you’re welcome. π
Thanks so much. I look forward at attempting to create more poetry videos. They are a bit fun.
It has been such a delight chatting with you, dear Sonel! Thanks so much for all the lovely comments. Enjoy your day!
A Jade
I love listening to them and you do it so well too Jade.
Same here hon and you are very welcome. Sorry for being late with the replies, but I am still struggling with a silly cold and haven’t been feeling well the past 2 weeks, but I am hanging in there and it’s also very cold here this morning as well. Seems winter doesn’t want to let go and give summer a chance. So, another day of being indoors for me. π
Have a lovely weekend. π

Thank you! I trust you will have a marvelous weekend, with plenty of tea, yes? Hope you are feeling much improved very soon indeed. And YES the weather needs to spruce up there so you can return to cavorting with all the wee creatures outside!
No problem on ever being late with a comment back- I certainly don’t mind. I have trouble keeping up sometimes as I am usually outside much more than on the computer blast me. And I don’t have a smart-phone to do blogging with from anywhere. I don’t think that it would be a good idea to get one, either, as it would surely be doused in water very rapidly…and sail away!
Thanks again for the lovely comment. I am so delighted the video was enjoyed and shall be working on more, soon. I have a friend who is a poet and he really wants to create a video feature his own poetry soon, so that, I am hoping, will provide an interesting result.
Get wells soon! Cheers!!
