Thank you! Yes, they made me stop and ponder, too, coming upon them. It was a thrilling and dramatic scene. I had to claw through the brush to get to the right spot for the photo- well worth the effort! Thanks for sluicing by and leaving such a kind comment! Smiling cheers,
Hahaha I did not even notice that! I love the marsh mouse- they are exceedingly charming. I cavort with them all the time. They are sweet. And there’s nothing more wonderful than a nice prickly-pear to admire out in the desert scrub-lands! I love it when I find tiny spiders balancing quietly between spines.
Thank you for oozing by and for the delightful comment!
I never know what I am doing with poetry. I used to create much more formal poetry for years. Now it is sloppy, frowzy and very poorly laid out. Sort of like myself 😉
Like I say, then you’re naturally a poet. A gift. As long as it works, nothing else matters. Whitman appeared sloppy too to his contemporaries and look what happened to him later. Not meaning that he died, but that he became famous. Or infamous. Notorious. Whatever.
Har har haw you are FAR too kind!! Ha, ha, I am just a slob, in my writing and otherwise. I was once extremely disciplined, and then one day my brain broke, and I turned into the very opposite of the perfectionist I once was. Har har, now I just slop words down with about as much meaning and intention as an infant who flings warm globs of tomato sauce and spaghetti onto an unsuspecting parent’s face. I know Whitman felt and meant A LOT more than I could ever even faintly conceive of. Nonetheless, I thank you for your kind and thoughtful, encouraging words! Smiling cheers,
Thank you! Yes, I thought it was too when I took it. I had to scrabble through tangles of brush, prickly-pear and hideous spiny vines. It was wonderful.
The tree was contorted and scorched, mottled with scaly charcoal, once having been groped by fire. Lightning sniveled, hissing and striking, above in a glorious sunset array of rose and neon orange. It was quite a spooky moment 😉
Aloha dear Dune! Thanks so much. It is not the easiest task to capture that feeling wandering the incessant sunny smiles of the Floridian landscape in winter. The northerner in me doesn’t stop looking, nonetheless. 😉 Thanks for the superb comment and for drizzling by. Jubilant cheers,
I love the scale of the first shot. You did a really great job there highlighting the depth and unrest of the sky. The black movie-esque borders also really suit your style of posting.
Magic 🙂
Thank you! 😀 Cheers,

Love this! Very much 🙂 Love the alliteration especially, “prickly-pear” and “marsh mouse”, yay!

Oh you didn’t even notice that you’re alliterating? Makes you a natural poet then! By the way I hate spiders, tiny or otherwise. Ugh.
Har har then kindly insert any tiny creature that you do admire in its place 😉
Kittens!!
HAR HAR! Excellent. Tiny kittens purring in the shade of giant prickly-pear spines! Love it!

Brilliant , pitches and words.
Thank you dear Mr. Ken D. Williams!
what a description of winter both visually and verbally I feel the bleakness….and beauty.
