The sweeping of Wings

Into candent Dawn

Welkin of turbid yellow

Punched with feathered fists of cloud-

Morn’s Pale Apparition lifts

Sorbile gems gleam in garland light

Kicked by creaking shoes-

Black starlings scatter

Beyond- a school bell’s keening

Slathered in mid-morning sun

Donning the Dew- slumping, careworn

Drenched in its memory

Eyes red with exhaust

Concrete dust and sun-baked blooms

Barbed thoughts pulsating-

Desiderium

Sizzles and evaporates

Like our memories

Pollen-faced, blue eyes

Smothered in Sun-baked flowers

When light vanishes

Palm fronds bend and sough

Listen for the gale

Ears filling with feral winds

Menacing welkin

Like the Oleander Moth

Quickly melts away

Amongst the Dunes

Buddha of the Street

Love is disguised through a screen of malevolent taunting,

And shown through Violence, the Buddha of the Street.

Don it on our faces, gnarled like twisted trees,

Snarling eyes that only smile while bleeding.

Euphoria, as skulls crack against the pavement,

Words of spitting teeth, “This is the real life of honour.”

And I believed that was the only time we could feel…

anything at all…
