Of Arduous Grey,

These

Bleary mornings-

Creature caged

Beast

With gentle eyes-

This is Love

Childlike

Within the Heathen

Hugging rabbits

Sautéing onions

And black beans

Then

Weeping

In the garden

Alive

With the brilliance

Of Rain

Plumes of acrid smoke

Swirling in Dawn

This Life-

One long, laborious

Over-dose
